A few tips:
Stay away from Hydrsoslide. This is the brand you can find in Walmart or sports stores that don't have much of a watersports section.
Don't be afraid to buy previous models. The only thing that gets changed on many boards from year to year is the graphics, not the actual design of the board.
Liquid Force and Hyperlite offer a pretty good selection of boards and boots for all levels.
Look around on wakeworld.com and wakeboader.com to see reviews, board pictures, etc..
I am about the same size and ride a Hyperlite Substance with alpha bindings. Works pretty good
